Description

This autumn quarter, the Office of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion is hosting a campus-wide DEI training series: Building Skills to Foster the Beloved

Community. This is the fourth and final workshop of a four-part training series for faculty and staff. All of the sessions are interactive and simulate

situations that build competency in DEI.

The training series schedule is as follows:

Friday, October 21: Creating Community in a Diverse Workplace

Friday, November 4: Intersectional Courageous Conversations

Friday, November 18: Conflict Facilitation & Training

Friday, December 2: Responding to a Discriminatory Event

These trainings will occur every two weeks on Fridays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. PST on Zoom. The cost of attendance is covered by the Office of DEI.

To design facilitation appropriately, we are asking those interested to register in advance. Registration will be available until either all spots are filled or

until Monday, October 17 by COB. To register, please complete this form: https://forms.office.com/r/fnf20Y4Jjv.

By registering for these trainings, we kindly ask three things:

Participants commit to attending all four trainings, as the learning builds on each session.

Participants commit toall four hours of each session,in order to minimize disruption for facilitators and other participants.

Participants commit to completing the required self-reflections for the training series. These self-reflections will be used to help us gain a

greaterunderstanding of current campus attitudes around, competencies in, and perceptions of campus-wide DEI trainings.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this training series, or need assistance completing this form, please contact Bailey Cheney, Program

Coordinator for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion at bcheney@uw.edu.
